Tim Ewalts is a young filmmaker from the Netherlands. He studied film the at KASK art college in Ghent. In 2021-2022 he made Undergrowth as his graduation film.

In his films Tim often focuses on the perspective of outsiders in an attempt to find a common humanity. He isn’t interested in social commentary or moralizing but instead he just observes. His films are visually distinctive, with a big emphasis on sounddesign and music. They are often best described as moody, nostalgic and melancholy films that combine drama with touches of deadpan comedy.
